About  Me

Ever since I can remember, I have been in love with words and images, and aware of the emotions they can invoke

I attended Clemson University, where I majored in English.  I was Vice President and President of the English Club, founder and editor-in-chief of two literary magazines, The Rectangle and The Fort Hill Review, was instrumental in bringing Sigma Tau Delta (an international English honor society, of which I am a member) to the Clemson campus, and was the student representative to the Curriculum Commitee of the English Department.  It was in that role that I was invited to become one of the first students to participate in the school's then new communications program, which perfectly combined my love of words and visual images.

As the years went by, I got away from my creative roots.  At a difficult period in my life, I participated in an Artist's Way class in an effort to reconnect with my creative side, as well as find answers to some difficult life questions.  I asked the universe for a sign.  Would I be like the phoenix, I wondered - able to rise above the ashes of my current difficulties and begin again, or would my problems consume me?  At the end of an Artist's Way course, each student presents a project in their preferred medium.  I felt the universe had responded to my request for a sign when a classmate unveiled the painting to the right.  Phoenix?  Angel?  No matter - the fact that the mythical being depicted rose unscathed from a river of fire became the sign that I was looking for.  I knew then that I, too, would rise above my present difficulties.  My friend had a print of the painting made for me.  It sits on my desk to this day, and has become my personal emblem.

Begin anew.  Overcome.  Rise above.  I can help your business or organization achieve those goals!  Call me today to learn how.
